How to Do a Bulgarian Split Lunge | Female Bodybuilding


Hey, my name is Erin, and I’m a former US
Junior Olympic certified swim coach and personal trainer, and fitness is my passion so I can
not wait to share it with you guys. My very favorite leg exercise and probably
the best thing you can ever do for your butt is called the Bulgarian split lunge. And I don’t know why it’s called the Bulgarian
split lunge, but some Bulgarian did us a good service by inventing. Okay, Bulgarian split lung one of my favorites
and great for the glutes. And your leg back like so, body nice and straight,
make sure that your knee does not come over your toe, you got to be in the right position. Bend down to a 90 degree angle here. You should see a 90 degree angle here, a 90
degree angle there and back up. So nice and easy. You should really feel the burn in that leg
and the contraction back here. And when you’re ready. Switch legs. So just, same thing on the other side, making
sure that this knee is not over that toe and that your weight is evenly distributed. It burns, but it works.

  1. what do i do if this really hurts my ankle the one on the platform in this position is there any other way to have my foot rested?

  2. 0:26 Well it makes sense that you don't know why they're called that, because you're doing a split squat, not a lunge

  3. This is so frustrating to watch. You’re going nowhere near low enough and your back leg is too high. 🤦🏻‍♂️
