Hi! My name is April Plank with Yoga Etc.
Studios on behalf of Expert Village. In this clip, we will be working with the tabletop
or otherwise known as bend and stretch on the Pilates Reformer. So we are going to start
by putting on the leg straps so Helen is going to put one foot in at a time. Great and she
will go ahead and glue the legs together, press those tail bone down the Reformer and
bend those legs so that they are in a tabletop position. So essentially we are looking for
a 90 degree bend, hips in line with the knees, knees and line with the ankles. Legs are glued
together. Keeping stability from the shoulder to the hips. Nothing will move in this area
of the body. We are just going to extend those legs. Inhale to prepare, exhale and press
and straighten the legs reaching out to those feet. Perfect. Inhale, come back to your tabletop
position and again, she is going to exhale, press and reach. Very important that she stays
engaged to the legs so that she doesn’t hyper extend. Inhaling back to the tabletop. Good.
Press and extend. Really great exercise here for stability through the spine. For pelvic
stability, keeping those hip bones nice and square. She is not rocking all over the place.
Nice work. We will do that two more times. Press and extend, legs are active. Beautiful.
One more. Nice and come back into the tabletop and then we will just finish here. Great job.
That was the tabletop or bend and stretch on the Pilates Reformer.
