The Lefcourt Family Cancer Treatment and Wellness Center

The first thing you need to consider is how is cancer care delivered in the United States today. Modern cancer therapy includes
all kinds of high-tech treatment, but in the background of that is the consideration for the helpful effects of meditation, healthful effects of exercise,
nutritional aspects, etcetera and we marry all of these components within
this single, beautiful cancer institute that we built here. In the lab in the Breast Center what we
do is an immediate evaluation of any biopsy. And that makes a big difference. The fact
that the pathology is performed on the biopsy is very useful because you can triage what are you going to do with the material you obtain. I think that the combination of
its provisions diagnosis and the quality of the stuff that is provided in the care
is rather unique. So she had an ultrasound-guided ethanai of this area and it returned showing just fat necrosis. This is the war of the
epicenter of our program here. Disease management teams come together that
includes physicians, nurses, geneticists, healing, nutrition, all aspects of it. We bring
together a team of specialists from every different discipline and discuss
what exactly is the best treatment for each individual patient. We don’t use a cookie cutter approach. We really consider the specifics of every case
and find what’s best. Many of the patients when they learn about the idea, are absolutely
delighted. And I always tell the patients well you’re not only going for a second opinion, you’re going to have thirty five second opinions. We treat tumors from head to toe. We treat brain tumors, head and neck cancer, breast cancer, lung
cancer, pancreatic cancer, colorectal cancer, skin cancer, really any area of
the body can be treated. The minute you walk in the door you have
a specific patient navigator, a social worker, who will attend to your needs and
walk you through every step, every appointment, scan, blood work – make sure everything is done in the most timely fashion. For us in the field oncology this
is a really exciting time as there are newer breakthroughs in medicine that
are providing better outcomes than what we’ve ever had before. I would hope we see over the
next few years the unique collaboration and the science that is applicable to
our patients that will really begin to make extraordinary strides in their
cancer care.
