The Pros and Cons of a High ‘Healthy’ Fat Diet Among Cyclists

– [Pav] Welcome, I’m Pav
from Direct Power Coaching, and this is one minute to explain the pros and cons of a high healthy
fat diet among cyclists. First of all, you can consider fat as your almost unlimited
source of fuel for your riding. You have about 1,500 maybe 2,000 calories stored as carbohydrate around your body, but about 50,000, if
not a lot more, in fat. So, getting your body to
burn fat more efficiently as a fuel, would definitely benefit your racing and your training. But does your body need to be burning fat efficiently as a feul? What are your events? If they’re short distance, then maybe you don’t, and maybe carbohydrate
will work just as well. Plan which is best for
you, and test this out in the off season, where if you do get a drop off in performance, it
won’t be the end of the world. And if unsure, seek professional help. Why not check out my
